Watching Now: Nisemonogatari

So the new season of the monogatari series has started. Nisemonogatari is the sequel to Bakemonogatari. It pretty much continues on where Bakemonogatari stopped. I’m not entirely sure if there’s a time-skip between the two, but after seeing the first episode, it doesn’t seem to have one. Continue reading

Update

This is just a post to update you guys  on what I’m actually doing lately and why there hasn’t been any blog posts i the past month.

I’ve been very busy with school, because I had test week and after that I’ve been working on certain projects, so that’s what has kept me busy. I’m working with a friend on web design and web development and it was taking most of my time in, but I’ll be back with new posts soon, so fear not!

Anyways, if you want to see some of the stuff I’ve been working on, you can always check DailyGib, it’s a gaming news/review site that I write for.

Listening Now: T-ARA – Cry Cry

After being out of the k-pop scene for quite a while, a friend of mine sent me this new song by T-ARA. Now I’m not the biggest T-ARA fan, having only listened to I Go Crazy Because of You and Bo Peep Bo Peep, and those were nothing special. They were good enough to listen to in the bus or on the bike, but they weren’t songs I’d play on purpose to listen to them.

Review: Higashi no Eden

Genre: Mystery
Studio: Production I.G
Original Run: 09/04/2009 – 18/06/2009
Episodes: 11 (22 mins and 33 seconds per episode)

After a series of missile strikes hit Japan, a guy names Takizawa Akira finds himself naked, without memories and in possession of a revolver and a phone in the middle of Washington D.C. There he meets a girl called Morimi Saki and they travel to Japan where Akira tries to retrace his steps and memories. He eventually finds out that his phone gives him access to ten billion yen and he can use the money to make extraordinary things happen.

Story

Higashi no Eden

Higashi no Eden is a typical mystery anime. The story starts with a guy that finds himself with only a phone and a gun, and no memories of who he is or what he is doing. He has to slowly puzzle his entire life together and find out what this mysterious phone of his does and why he has access to ten billion yen. The answers are spoon-fed throughout the series and the viewer will get to know more and more about what’s happening over the course of the series.

The mystery surrounding Akira himself is not the only mysterious thing happening. There are a couple of subplots in the story that manage to raise some questions, and I really like how they’ve done that. Sooner or later you’ll be wondering why the missile attacks happened, why there were no wounded during the attack, who the Supporter really is and more questions like that, which will stay unanswered until the last few episodes. (some of them are still not answered when the series ended)

Playing Now: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Instead of writing about or watching anime, I’ve been playing Skyrim the last couple of days. This kind of explains why I didn’t have the time to put up any articles on the site. Skyrim is just so much fun and sucks away so much time that I’ve been doing very little of anything else, which is fun but somehow also a bit scary how much time I’ve actually spent on the game already.

Skyrim

The first thing that I’ve noticed in the game is the amount of detail put in the graphics, the world looks amazingly detailed, textures are rich (with a few exceptions) and the magic abilities are just gorgeous. The only thing that Bethesda could have done better is the character models, they just don’t look as good as everything else.

Story

The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya

The Story in The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya is very much meant for fans of the series, people who already have seen the anime and want more. If you try to watch this movie with no prior knowledge of anything that happens in the world of Suzumiya Haruhi, you’ll just end up being confused and missing what half the movie is actually about.
